In department reports, the administrator noted the sewer manhole replacement project is in Phase 3 (targeted for completion by June 30) and that closing out the final two Hurricane Florence FEMA projects will involve a $12,968.00 check to FEMA.

The police report described a docket reduced from 26 to 15 cases, recent training, and new vehicles arriving. Two residents spoke during public comment: Neil Johnson, a developer for the proposed Silver Oak Cottages subdivision on North Cox Road, raised concerns about delays he attributes to the planning department and was directed to meet with the administrator and city attorney; and Candice Grella requested a 10 foot x 10 foot downtown space for a native plant garden she would maintain at no cost to the city, plus added downtown parking striping.
