Report a problem

One place to find who handles it, the city, Horry County, or the state, for everyday problems, with the right number and what to expect.

In an emergency, or a crime in progress, call 911. This page is for non-emergencies, reporting, requesting, and figuring out who's responsible.
Every contact below comes from the City of Loris, Horry County, and SCDOT's own published pages, verified July 2, 2026. Where the city doesn't publish a direct line, this page says so and points you to City Hall rather than guessing.

Why two after-hours numbers? The city lists (843) 421-5391 for after-hours water and sewer emergencies on its meter-reading and rates pages, but its water-utilities page says to call City Hall (843) 756-4004 and select option 2. Both are current city numbers, so try the direct line first and City Hall option 2 as a backup. Streetlights may belong to the city or to Horry Electric Cooperative; City Hall can route it. For a water-main break or sewer overflow that threatens a home or safety, call 911.
